The US Congress Handbook Wants YOU to Design Its Next Cover!

What does Congress mean to you?

Use your artistic skills to design our first-ever Kids Cover for the US Congress Handbook. We welcome all DC, MD or VA students in the 3rd - 8th grade to submit their best cover design showing what Congress means to them. The winner will have their cover published on 2012 Kids Cover Charitable Edition that will be sold nationwide!

Top Prize Winner

The top prize winner will receive an Amazon Kindle Reader, $100 in Kindle credits and 100 copies of the US Congress Handbook for their school’s use. The top winner will also have their cover printed on the 2012 Kids Cover Charitable Edition, sold nationwide. The winner will be honored at the Hoops for Youth Congressional Basketball Game on September 12, 2011 where they’ll have the opportunity to meet US Congressmen and Senators who will be playing in the game. The winner will also be announced on the online contest site and in The Hill Newspaper.

Honorable Mention (3)

Three honorable mentions will also be awarded and recognized. Each honorable mention designer will receive a Amazon Kindle Reader, $50 in Kindle credits and 20 copies of the 2012 Kids Cover Edition of the US Congress Handbook. The winners will be honored at the Hoops for Youth Congressional Basketball Game on September 12, 2011 where they’ll have the opportunity to meet US Congressmen and Senators who will be playing in the game. Winners will also be announced on the online contest site and in The Hill Newspaper.

Rules

Eligible students must be in grade 3rd - 8th as of September 10, 2011 and enrolled in a school located in DC, MD or VA.

Charity Benefit

15% of all sales of the 2012 Kids Cover Charitable Edition of the US Congress Handbook will be donated to the Hoops for Youth Foundation to benefit the Washington Jesuit Academy, St. Anthony’s, Cornerstone School of Washington, DC, and Horton’s Kids. What is the US Congress Handbook?

The Original U.S. Congress Handbook is a pocket sized guide to all Congressional members and their staff.
Each handbook contains photos, contact. information and biographical details about each member of Congress.
